A Multithreaded Multi-Colony Ant Colony Optimization Framework with Ring and Random Communication Topologies for Solving Large-Scale Sudoku
- Problem
- Existing ant-colony Sudoku solvers run in a single thread, and their success rate drops sharply on large 25×25 puzzles.
- Approach
- Several cooperating ant colonies run in parallel threads and share solutions through ring and random communication topologies, combined with constraint propagation.
- My role
- Presenting author, with co-authors Gian Myrl D. Renomeron and John Paul T. Yusiong.
- Reported results
- On the ten 25×25 test puzzles, the multithreaded solver reached an 83–100% success rate, matching or beating both single-threaded baselines on every puzzle. Full tables are in the slides.

I'm John Michael E. Jabuen, a Computer Science graduate from the University of the Philippines Tacloban.
I produce AI-assisted videos for brands and creators. Teaching taught me to explain ideas clearly and hold attention. Computer Science taught me to structure problems, test carefully and keep improving the process.
I work with clients in the US, Australia and worldwide, on Philippine time (UTC+8).
